Vested Interest, Nervous Energy and Barely Regal Records present:
DYM – ‘RAY’S FRONT TEETH’ EP RELEASE SHOW
Days Fade, Nights Grow
Milan & Ellie
Last December, London trio Dym put out their latest EP – a record that’s fast becoming one of my all-time favourites, with six tracks of incredible weird, winding post-hardcore. Because everyone was a bit too preoccupied with festive parties, we didn’t get a proper chance to celebrate, so we’re throwing a belated release show at the end of January instead.
In keeping with the broad spectrum of music that influenced the songs on ‘Ray’s Front Teeth’, we’ll have a pretty diverse bill here. As well as Dym performing (obvs), we’ll have sets from:
DAYS FADE, NIGHTS GROW:
A stark glimpse into the void facilitated by Camille Rearden (Scrap Brain, Towel). Deeply personal lyrics cutting through dense layers of churning samples, rolling organ chords and live instrument loops.
Sparse, skeletal indie-rock a la Life Without Buildings, with wheeling guitar parts tracing patterns around sing-speak vocals.
Visceral no-wave that twins raw punk energy with a wild, improvisatory edge.
MILAN & ELLIE
Brooding and hypnotic strings from the duo, opening the evening’s proceedings.
