🎸🎶 As part of FIRST TIMERS 2018, Dream Nails are facilitating a guitar workshop!
Hello, this is Anya and Mimi from DREAM NAILS, and we are hosting a beginners guitar workshop! All levels are welcome. In this workshop we will be going over the very basics. How to tune your guitar, how to use an amp, and how to work your way around all the volume and tone knobs to find a sound you like. We will also take a look at a simple song to get everyone playing some chords by the end! By the end of the workshop we hope you’ll have found some new confidence to achieve your musical goals, whether it’s just for fun or to start a band!
Bring your earplugs, enthusiasm, questions, and your own (or borrowed) guitar. Don’t worry if you don’t have access to one, we can provided a few to use in the workshop.

💖 About First Timers Fest 💖
FTF is a season of workshops followed by a two-day festival where every band plays its first show. FTF is about getting new faces and voices in bands, and doing something about the lack of diversity in the make-up of the DIY music community.
As a direct way of addressing the lack of diversity in the make-up of the DIY music community, our workshops centre people who are disabled (visible or non-visible), LGBTQIA+ folk, people of colour, and women. As well, we are here to support people who have never played in a band before // never played the instrument they’ve always wanted to learn before because of their class, race, gender, mental health, etc.
Our 2018 festival will be taking place on May 5th & 6th 2018. Applications are open until 1st March: goo.gl/jSZRk3

💖 About the venue, DIY Space for London 💖
DIY Space for London is on a single floor level, with access ramps, widened doors, an accessible toilet and plenty of space for manoeuvring and getting away from crowds. There is plenty of seating available and the toilets are gender neutral and accessible.
On entering the venue there is a small ramp, which is quite steep and might require assistance going up and down. If you are a wheelchair user and not travelling with anyone, let us know in advance you are coming so someone at the venue can be there to assist.
If you would like to discuss access, please get in touch or visit our website:https://
