A sober social for students aiming to tackle the rise of individualism and isolating nature of living in London!
This our first event (ahh) and it will be in the front room at DIY Space for London. The social will be arts and crafts based, the purpose of this is
1. its fun and therapeutic!!!
2. it can facilitate conversations with new people and hopefully create a sense of community!
Overall, the aim is to create a sober safe space where students can meet likeminded people and break the anonymity of London.
Our institutions don’t care about our mental health as funding for services is decreasing rapidly. At the same time, individualism is rising and companies are capitalising off self-care. But mental health isn’t an individual problem detached from our lives and it cant be solved by consumption!
We believe that having a sense of community is integral to settling in and flourishing. However, as a student this often comes with commitments to societies and other groups which can be overwhelming. So this is a no commitment deal, just come and go as you please!
6-9pm starting Wednesday 25th September and then fortnightly after that!!
£3 recommended donation on the door (to go towards hiring the venue and art supplies) BUT no one will be turned away from lack of funds! Open to members and the public ♥
Look forward to seeing you :)))
