DSFL Zine Club:
Zine Club runs 6:30-8:30 pm about every other Monday at DIY Space for London! Check if we’re running in our Facebook Group or on our Twitter feed (@ZineClubDSFL)!
*A dedicated space and time set aside a few hours a week for people to work on their own projects. We provide basic equipment like paper, pens, pencils, glue, scissors – bring anything else you need!
*A community group for collaborating, skill-sharing, supporting each other, socialising, and sharing zines.
*Once we’ve got the photocopier set up, affordable photocopying and riso on site.
Longer term we’re thinking about:
*Organising a zine fair
*Building a small catalogued zine library
*Inviting speakers from activist orgs
*Holding readings and workshops
*Setting up a distro/collaborating with existing distros
Zines needn’t be the end point for any work you do at zine club – the main hope is to build a supportive and creative environment for people to work on projects, solo or collaboratively. Three suggestions of other ways people could use the sessions have been as a poster design workshop (for DIY promoters and activists &c.), for designing DIY band merch, and as a sketchbook club.
