An afternoon of informal talks, lectures and discussions hosted by non-academic LGBTQ people.
Drawing on my own experiences outside of mainstream education, the Queer Day School aims to provide a platform for LGBTQ people that have things to say and ideas to discuss but feel that they are outside mainstream education or academia for whatever reason. The afternoon will be relaxed, friendly and informal.
All LGBTQ people welcome to attend! Entry is FREE but please book your space here: https://
Programme coming soon!
(I’m still looking for contributions and I have extended the deadline to May the 2nd. I’m looking for LGBTQ people who fit into any or all of these categories:
* Not in mainstream education
* Doesn’t have a degree or qualifications
* Aren’t involved in academia
***To clarify*** You only have to meet one of the categories, not all! This could mean that you have a degree or other qualifications but still feel outside the “world of academia” due to other reasons.
And I want you to:
* Give a talk (ranging from 5 minutes to 30)
* Read an essay or a piece of writing
* Present a short film or video
* Give a performance
* Bring along your zines to share and sell
* Discuss, share and enjoy yourself!
You can talk about anything that is important to you, there are no limits! (Although do consider that we may have under 18s in attendance!) It doesn’t matter if you’ve never done something like this before, all that matters is that you want to give it a go. Digital contributions in the form of a short video or film are also very much encouraged for those who can’t make the event for whatever reason. So please email me with your ideas, outlines, videos and zines before May the 2nd! queerdayschoolATgmail.com)
