You ‘erd. Guess who’s back.
In celebration of their split 7″ on Specialist Subject Records & Topshelf Records, Slingshot Dakota & Petal are doing a little tour of the United Kingdom – http://diymag.com/2017/02/
To whoever came out to see Carly and Tom when they played for us back in 2012, well done you. Five years have past and it’s a delight to have two of the nicest humans imaginable returning to play more of their larger than large pop smashers. Big grins are guaranteed from start to finish, alongside jaw-dropping fascination as to how two people can produce such volume.
Petal is the brains of Kiley Lotz. A big fan of Jenny Lewis, who in her latest LP ‘Shame’, breaks out indie-pop angst over transfixing melodies that don’t tread far from the likes of Death Cab For Cutie or Pedro the Lion. Playing solo for this show, don’t expect this to be anything other than completely fabulous.
YEARH, OH YEARH. Bristol’s signature punk trio, Caves return to London playing some hits of their new full-length ‘Always Why’.
Bucking the fuzzy guitar trend with their clean harmonies, this West-Country two-piece strike a chord with past 90’s band Pohgoh, with big riffs to win over the Superchunk devout. Playing alongside, maybe, just maybe, a giant Zayn Malik banner. Get to know ’em: http://
With three releases under the belt, Finish Flag have plently of tricks up their sleeve, honing their special brand of whimsical bedroom pop that shimmies between the likes of Yo La Tengo and Broadcast.
