Trust Fund / Vested Interest Festive Bash

Friday 8 December @ 7:30 pm - 11:00 pm

£8

Vested Interest pres.:

THE VESTED INTEREST MOST-FESTIVE PARTY
<<<TICKETS>>>

It’s that time of year again! Somehow we’ve sort of ended up with an unintentional ‘Canadian Christmas’ theme this year’s Vested Interest xmas bash (two Canadian bands, plus one band named after Canada…), but we’re gonna roll with it. So, uh, wear christmas jumpers with maple leaf designs, or something?

Enjoy music from:

TRUST FUND (Leeds, UK)

Driving power-pop a la Superchunk, with lots of intricate, fragile moments balanced with super-smashing high-energy choruses. Honestly some of the catchiest songs going – if you don’t find yourself humming along to these songs for days after then you’re doing something wrong.

TIM THE MUTE (Vancouver, Canada)

Oddball lo-fi pop from the head honcho of Kingfisher Bluez, Canada’s finest DIY label. Dense layers of warbling synths, chuggy guitars and percussion, with songs that are as melancholic and introspective as they are super fucking fun to watch live. Sort of like if Freddie from Former Ghosts decided to do a fun punk band.

MI’ENS (Vancouver, Canada)

Churning, fuzzy indie-rock, with hypnotic spiky guitars and spectral vocals swirling around thundering drums. Whole lotta noise for a duo.

ISASA (Madrid, Spain)

Becoming a bit of December tradition, we’re delighted to welcome back the hypnotic guitar noodling of Isasa, who draws inspiration from the American primitive guitarists like John Fahey, Glenn Jones and Jack Rose.

CANADIAN EMBASSY (London, UK)

Nope, we didn’t just invite some speakers down from the actual Canadian Embassy in a cheap grab for public funds, this is actually the first show from a new band featuring Mat Riviere, Jake May (Ski Saigon, Speed Skater), Laurie Foster (Garden Centre) and Amy Wilkes (Strongarm). Sparse, intricate indie-rock stuff, exactly as good as you’d expect from the members involved.
