When: Sunday 12th March, 6:30-8:30
Join Sunday Service for a screening of Stories of Our Lives
In 2013 The Nest, a Nairobi-based collective, travelled around Kenya and recorded 250 oral accounts from queer Kenyans. Five of those accounts made the compelling jump from page to screen and became the film Stories of Our Lives.
The magic of Stories of Our Lives lies in the singular premise that the personal can and should be political, that the insularity of life on the margins of Kenyan society is worthy of introspection and beauty and grief.
The powerful film which is banned in Kenya is notable for its inventive narrative and the tender stories of love, longing and freedom.
Tickets £5 + 80p and can be purchased bit.ly/ssfilmnight
